• 1. 2 years of overall experiences in development sector including Agriculture, livelihood and climate change.
  2. Experiences and skill in advocacy and working with the Local Government Institutions.

Responsibilities & Context

Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the “Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (Uddom) Project’ in Derai Upazila under Sunamgonj district in partnership with BRAC. The present project tenure is 5 years. We have initially recruited staff up to 26 May 2026 with the expectation of extending this period.

The Sector Specialist, Agriculture will be the technical lead for the Agriculture sector interventions in their respective geographic regions. S/he is responsible to provide technical support in the field level to contribute in increasing productivity through extending climate resilient agriculture technologies to the farmer’s field. He/she will closely work with the Project Coordinator to ensure smooth and effective operations of the program in a timely manner.

1. Ensure technical support to the standing crops, regular field visit and follow-up the activities.
2. Providing Training/Orientation/Refreshers to the programme participants
3. Dissemination of agricultural technologies to the farmer’s field.
4. Programme participants were selected according to the criteria. Preparation of crop cut and cost-benefit reports and other project reports.
5. Perform awareness raising and capacity building activities
6. Distribution of agriculture inputs and materials for climate adaptive agricultural activities
7. Managing relationships with farmers, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of the programme outputs at field level
8. Provide support in overall implementation, monitoring and reporting of field level programme activities
9. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
10. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
11. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
12. The employee will be ready to perform the tasks assigned by organization for the greater interest of the organization and the community even if those tasks are not mentioned in the above role and responsibilities.
13. S/he will report to the Project Coordinator, FIVDB Uddom Project.
